The Data Analyst - Operations & Performance serves as a strategic analytics partner to the Operations organization, helping leaders better understand performance, uncover opportunities for improvement, and make data-driven decisions. This role is responsible for identifying measurement gaps, developing meaningful KPIs, and proactively designing dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions that improve operational effectiveness. This role requires being skilled at listening to operational challenges, translating business needs into scalable analytics solutions, and anticipating analytic opportunities before formal requests are made. You will act as a trusted advisor to Operations leaders, helping transform data into actionable insights that drive efficiency, quality, and organizational performance.Primary Responsibilities
- Proactively identify gaps in operational measurement and recommend analytics solutions that improve visibility into performance and outcomes.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into analytical frameworks and reporting solutions that provide actionable insights.
- Build and maintain self-service reporting capabilities that empower operational stakeholders to access and leverage data independently.
- Analyze operational performance trends, uncover root causes, and provide recommendations that improve efficiency, quality, customer experience, and business results.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, reports, and visualizations that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics that align with business objectives and support ongoing performance management.
- Conduct data validation, quality assurance, and monitoring activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytics products.
- Ensure data governance, security, and reporting best practices are consistently applied.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience required. 2-4 years’ experience of data analytics, business intelligence, or operational analytics.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business and operational leaders to understand challenges, identify measurement gaps, and develop data-driven solutions.
- Experience defining KPIs, operational scorecards, performance metrics, and reporting frameworks that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous business questions into actionable analytical insights and scalable reporting solutions.
- Experience serving as a proactive analytics consultant by identifying opportunities to improve operational visibility and performance.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Power BI (or equivalent) experience.
- Healthcare, payer, provider, or claims analytics experience strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Excellent listening, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to uncover business needs that may not be explicitly defined.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts and insights effectively to non-technical audiences and executive stakeholders.
- Advanced SQL proficiency with the ability to analyze, transform, and validate complex datasets; experience with Python (PySpark) preferred.
- Experience developing interactive dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations using Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
- Systems/Tools: MS Office Suite advance, MS SQL Server Management Studio, Databricks, and MS PowerBI are required. Azure DevOps and Tableau experience a plus.
