Onboard is seeking a highly motivated AI/ML Researcher to join our remote team. This role is crucial for advancing the capabilities and alignment of our AI models. You will combine scientific inquiry with practical engineering to conduct experiments, publish your findings, and help define our research direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments to enhance model capabilities and alignment.
• Implement, train, and evaluate innovative architectures and methodologies.
• Develop robust benchmarks and evaluation frameworks for AI models.
• Clearly document research findings through internal reports, papers, and presentations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate research advancements into production systems.
• Contribute significantly to the overall research roadmap and strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent industry research experience.
• Profound expertise in contemporary deep learning techniques, including transformers and large-scale training.
• Proficiency in PyTorch or similar deep learning frameworks.
• A proven track record of publications, contributions to open-source projects, or successfully shipped research initiatives.
• Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to produce paper-quality technical documentation.
• Demonstrated curiosity and a strong drive to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges.
