Job Description
About Catchafire
Catchafire is the world's leading skills-based volunteer platform. We have delivered more than $350M in project value to over 12,000 nonprofit organizations, by matching social impact leaders with highly skilled professionals who contribute their time and expertise to solve critical organizational challenges. Our clients include more than 100 national, community, and corporate foundations, and we are a profitable social enterprise with more than $8M in annual recurring revenue. What Catchafire has built to date has unlocked real, measurable leverage for the social good sector—and in the face of increasing need from the nonprofit sector, we are now poised to expand the breadth of our services and our reach to dramatically scale our impact.
About The Organization
Catchafire is the world's leading skills-based volunteer platform. Since our founding, we have delivered more than $350 million in project value to over 12,000 nonprofit organizations, by matching social impact leaders with highly skilled professionals who contribute their time and expertise to solve critical organizational challenges.
This work has unlocked real, measurable leverage for the social good sector—and we are still at the beginning of what is possible to maximize our impact.
Catchafire was built to address the "scarcity trap" in the sector. The nonprofit and social impact world is filled with extraordinary leaders operating under chronic financial and resource constraints. Because of this scarcity trap, these leaders are often forced to prioritize short-term survival over long-term strategy, limiting their ability to scale impact, build durable institutions, or fully realize their missions.
Catchafire has proven that it does not have to be this way.
By matching nonprofit leaders with the right skilled volunteers on the right projects—strategy, finance, technology, marketing, operations—small teams can generate outsized results. This proprietary matching technology is part of Catchafire's "impact infrastructure", which also includes educational content, events, and the power of community to holistically support the organizations we serve.
The majority of organizations on our platform are working on the front lines of society's most urgent challenges, providing essential services to their communities. More than 50% of the nonprofits we serve are BIPOC-led, and many operate in communities that have been historically under-resourced and overlooked.
Nonprofits and mission-driven organizations are the backbone of every community. When governments or markets fail, they are the institutions that ensure people and the planet do not fall through the cracks. Yet the leaders of these organizations are routinely denied access to the same caliber of talent, tools, and strategic capacity that fuel success in the private sector.
Catchafire is changing that equation.
We believe that the best talent and resources must flow to purpose-driven leaders—not as charity, but as an investment in collective resilience and social infrastructure. Our work ensures that mission-driven leaders are not constrained by what they lack, but accelerated by what they can now access: world-class people power.
Founded in 2009, Catchafire was among the first technology companies built explicitly to advance social impact at scale. Today, we are an established and profitable Certified B Corporation, with over $8M in annual recurring revenue and an accomplished team of 35. Our customers include leading foundations that sponsor nonprofits to access our platform, as well as corporations that use Catchafire to power their social impact strategies—through skills-based volunteering, team engagement, and targeted support for the organizations they fund.

About The Chief Executive Officer Role
We are now at a pivotal moment.
Advances in technology, shifts in how people want to contribute their skills, and growing recognition of the limits of traditional philanthropy have converged. Catchafire has the platform, the proof, and the trust to define the next chapter of how talent flows to social impact—but that potential requires bold, disciplined leadership.
We are seeking a Chief Executive Officer who can build on what has been created and multiply Catchafire's impact: scaling our reach, deepening our partnerships, strengthening our business model, and leading the organization into its next phase of growth with clarity, humility, and ambition.
This is an opportunity to steward a proven platform—and help reshape how society mobilizes talent in service of the common good.
Our next Chief Executive Officer will focus on the following key organizational priorities:
- Maximize impact during a time of great need for the nonprofit sector, meeting the moment decisively and evolving our service offerings to address critical gaps in talent, resources, and support for leaders operating under great stress.
- Adapt our platform and programs, both responding to the opportunities that AI and digital technology create to provide leverage to small organizations while also expanding the core human connection and community that makes Catchafire distinctive.
- Elevate our thought leadership voice and our profile with major foundations and with corporations committed to leadership in social impact.
- Sustainably grow Catchafire's business, doubling our revenue within the next three to four years, and building a dynamic, differentiated, profitable business that fulfills our commitment to create value for our mission-driven investors and our team.
To accomplish this, the Chief Executive Officer will lead Catchafire's next chapter with a blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution, working with the Board of Directors to set direction and make the key choices that shape our evolution and a strong leadership team to sharpen and scale our platform and expand our offerings.
