Role Summary
Reporting to the SVP, Platform Engineering, AI and Advanced Analytics, the Director, AI Delivery and Innovation is accountable for leading the rapid delivery of AI solutions that align with the OMERS enterprise AI strategy. You will establish and oversee an innovation function designed to accelerate prototyping and experimentation with AI and emerging technologies in collaboration with internal business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end AI solution delivery from concept to deployment.
- Collaborate with AI Strategy and Software Engineering teams to align initiatives.
- Build and lead an innovation capability for ideation and prototyping.
- Partner with internal customers to translate business needs into AI solutions.
- Establish frameworks, best practices, and governance for AI projects.
- Monitor industry trends and lead team development and mentoring.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of progressive technology delivery experience, 8+ years delivering AI and machine learning solutions, and 5+ years leading high-performing technical teams. Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks is required, along with familiarity with modern practices like Agile, DevOps, MLOps, and AIOps. Financial services experience, particularly on the buy-side, is an asset. Strong expertise in responsible AI practices, governance, and ethical considerations is essential.
Work Environment
OMERS follows a flexible hybrid work guideline requiring teams to be in the office 4 days per week. This structure promotes connection and collaboration within a diverse, global workforce.
