About the Role

As an Associate, Brand Strategy at Lippincott, part of Oliver Wyman, you will be a key contributor to solving complex brand challenges for ambitious companies. This role involves partnering across the firm to develop and execute solutions through strategy, experience, marketing, and design. You will apply rigorous analytical and creative thinking to transformative initiatives, consulting globally across various industries on brand positioning, messaging, architecture, naming, and marketing/customer strategy.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate, Brand Strategy, you will be responsible for clear and rigorous evaluations of client situations to inform compelling strategic solutions. You will be seen as an authority on research findings and their implications, generating hypotheses and recommendations that range from breakthrough brand ideas to elegant architecture models. This role involves leading as a people and work plan manager, driving the team's content creation, owning individual project work-streams, and bridging input from adjacent practice areas like design and experience to resolve core strategic branding problems.

  • Distill insights from diverse inputs (client documents, research, best practices, market trends) to frame situations and identify brand opportunities.
  • Manage day-to-day project work plans, adapting to evolving client demands.
  • Coordinate the development and flow of client presentations.
  • Collaborate with designers and experience strategists to craft multi-disciplinary solutions.
  • Motivate, develop, and guide junior staff members.
  • Quickly acquire new skills and knowledge in branding to advise clients holistically.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients and stakeholders, owning team expertise on key topics.
  • Present to both internal case teams and external client teams, and facilitate workshops.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews with client leadership and customers.

What Makes You a Great Candidate

  • At least 5 years of full-time experience in consulting, business strategy, brand strategy, brand management, or planning.
  • MBA or equivalent is welcomed but not required.
  • Outstanding writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to delve deep and challenge conventional thinking to solve brand, experience, and marketing challenges.
  • Ability to connect deep business understanding with its brand implications.
  • Passion for thriving in a collaborative team environment, leveraging both junior and senior members.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to apply structured problem-solving to open-ended directions or changing priorities.
  • An appetite for continuous learning and tackling complex topics across diverse clients and industries.
  • Openness to travel.

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay for this role ranges from $115,000 to $150,000, determined by factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentives. Lippincott offers a competitive total rewards package, including health benefits, 401K savings, and employee assistance programs.

Work Environment

Marsh is committed to a hybrid work model, offering flexibility with remote work alongside the benefits of in-office collaboration and professional development. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will designate at least one "anchor day" per week for full team in-person collaboration.
