Job Overview
The Application Support Engineer/DevOps role at Oliver Peters spans application support and DevOps responsibilities. You will troubleshoot complex systems, work hands-on with infrastructure and deployments, and support customers running business-critical software.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer support requests via helpdesk tickets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and infrastructure issues.
- Monitor system health and proactively address issues.
- Support deployments, upgrades, migrations, and configuration.
- Investigate and document defects with Engineering teams.
- Log, track, and manage unresolved issues while communicating with customers.
- Test and support new features, bug fixes, and releases.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with Engineering for platform reliability and improvement.
- Maintain operational documentation and knowledge base articles.
Skills & Experience
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with MySQL databases.
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Hands-on DevOps experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with JSON and REST APIs strongly preferred.
- Python and PHP experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years experience in application support, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering.
