Job Overview

The Insurance Statistical Reporting Analyst role at Oliver James focuses on preparing and submitting regulatory reporting data and statistical reports to various state insurance departments and regulatory agencies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit regulatory data calls and statistical reports.
  • Review regulatory requirements and assess their impact on reporting.
  • Define reporting needs for new product offerings and ensure data capture.
  • Reconcile submissions with source data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyze data issues and implement preventive actions.
  • Maintain organized procedures and documentation.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulators, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and decision-making within scope.
  • Maintain accurate records of work products and materials.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
  • Experience in a regulatory or statistical reporting role is ideal.
  • Knowledge of statutory financial statements and insurance expense exhibits preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience in lines of business like workers' compensation, automobile, homeowners, or surplus lines is beneficial.
