About the Role: Observability Engineer
Our client, a leading financial technology (FinTech) company, is seeking an experienced Observability Engineer to join their core Infrastructure Engineering team. This role focuses on building out their Observability Platform, Automation, and Performance function.
This is an initial 6-month contract, outside IR35, offering fully remote working with a flexible day rate around £700 per day, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering monitoring, observability, and automation solutions for production systems and applications across the entire IT estate.
- Driving the vision, design, and implementation of monitoring and observability systems, including Datadog, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Collaborating with Azure cloud DevOps teams and working with technologies such as containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Ansible.
This is a true greenfield opportunity, joining at the start of new investment to revolutionize infrastructure and redefine monitoring, DevOps, and automation capabilities.
Requirements
- Excellent previous experience in a similar Observability or Monitoring role.
- Experience engineering and supporting solutions with tools like Dynatrace, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience with CI/CD, Cloud (Azure), and DevOps is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python and/or Bash.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, or Puppet.
- Excellent communication skills.
