The Role: Senior AI and Automation Engineer

Okta is at the forefront of building secure, enterprise-grade AI, and is looking for a Senior AI and Automation Engineer to design and scale their Agentic AI Platform. This platform is crucial for enabling enterprise teams to securely build, deploy, and manage intelligent AI agents at scale.

As part of a global AI engineering team spanning the US and India, you will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and designers to develop secure, intelligent tools for Okta employees.

What You Will Do

• Design and develop platform services for AI agents, covering orchestration, lifecycle management, observability, and guardrails.
• Collaborate daily with US counterparts to align on architecture, share roadmaps, and ensure global consistency.
• Build scalable APIs, frameworks, and reusable components for rapid and secure AI agent creation and deployment.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and governance features to ensure safe, reliable, and enterprise-ready AI adoption.
• Partner with Applied AI engineers, product managers, and designers to support real-world use cases.
• Stay updated with advancements in agentic AI, orchestration frameworks, and enterprise AI infrastructure.

What We Are Looking For

• 5–8 years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in AI/ML platforms or intelligent automation.
• 3+ years in Python preferred; experience with Java, Node.js, or Go is a plus.
• 2+ years with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular), including accessibility (a11y) principles and effective collaboration with Product & Design teams.
• Expertise in AI agent frameworks (LangGraph preferred), orchestration systems, vector databases, RAG pipelines, and monitoring/observability.
• Strong background in distributed systems, APIs, microservices, container orchestration (ECS/EKS), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience building secure, enterprise-grade infrastructure for AI or ML workloads.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for global and cross-time zone teams.
