The Role: Financial Director

Okoora is seeking a Financial Director to take ownership of its financial operations and help shape a strong, scalable finance function. This is a hands-on role with significant influence, working at the heart of the business to translate growth into clear, reliable financial operations. It is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys responsibility, autonomy, and building systems that last. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key partner in strengthening operational discipline, financial clarity, and execution as the company scales.

What You Will Do

• Financial Operations & Control: Own and manage day-to-day financial operations end to end, ensuring accurate and timely monthly closes, maintaining clean, reliable financial data and reconciliations, and working closely with the accounting team and external advisors.
• Payments & Vendor Management: Own vendor payments and supplier relationships end to end, maintaining visibility into suppliers, contracts, and payment schedules, ensuring payments are executed accurately and on time, and building confidence and trust with vendors.
• Billing, Revenue & Collections: Build and improve billing and invoicing processes, ensuring alignment between contracts, usage, and revenue recognition, improving collections and reducing outstanding balances, and maintaining full control over AR.
• Revenue & Unit Economics: Build and maintain an accurate ARR view, analyze revenue and profitability by customer and product, and partner with Sales on contracts and commercial execution.
• Reporting & Data: Create clear financial dashboards and management reports, establish a single source of truth for financial data, and replace manual and error-prone reporting processes.
• Due Diligence Readiness: Organize financial documentation and data rooms, ensuring operational financial readiness for partners and investors.

Team & Reporting Structure

• Reports directly to the CEO.
• Manages the company’s accounting team (controller and bookkeepers).
• Works closely with Sales, Operations, Product, and Engineering.

Requirements

• 3–5 years as a Finance Manager, Controller, or Accounting Manager in a SaaS or Fintech company.
• Hands-on experience with monthly closes, payments, billing, and collections.
• Strong understanding of revenue flows and financial controls.
• CPA or equivalent accounting qualification is an advantage, but not required.
