Lead FPGA Engineer / SoC Architect - OKATIM Italia
In pursuit of continuous growth and expansion, we are seeking a Lead FPGA Engineer / SoC Architect for a leading client in the Electronic Warfare sector. The ideal candidates will join the client's project team located in the province of Rome.
Responsibilities:
- Technical leadership of an electronics team, guiding hardware/firmware development in the selection of technological platforms and the definition of design flows.
- Design of the physical and logical architecture of FPGA and SoC modules, defining high-speed communication interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet 10/40G, JESD204).
- Supervision of the entire design cycle: from requirements specification to synthesis, up to placement and routing (P&R), ensuring adherence to timing constraints (Timing closure).
- Supervision of validation and technical reporting according to military standards (MIL-STD), ensuring complete coverage of requirements in integration tests.
- Introduction and management of innovative development methodologies (Model-Based Design with Simulink/HDL Coder, HLS) to accelerate time-to-market.
- Resolution of complex technical problems, acting as a point of reference for the team.
- Coordination of technical system documentation (SSS, SSDD).
Ideal Profile:
- Master's Degree in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in Firmware/FPGA development, with proven experience in leading technical teams.
- In-depth knowledge of complex FPGA architectures (SoC, MPSoC, RFSoC).
- Proficiency in advanced simulation flows and static code analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of serial communication standards and RF protocols.
- Ability to draft, manage, and supervise technical system documentation according to military standards.
- Attitude for problem-solving on mission-critical hardware/firmware issues.
- Preferred: Experience in Cybersecurity Product Security (Secure Boot, TARA), knowledge of embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr), skills in High-Speed PCB design.
