We're looking for a Creative Copywriter to join the Ogilvy Health team - use your creativity to solve complex problems and drive behaviour change.

About The Creative Copywriter Role

Reporting to the Group Creative Director, you are responsible for developing outstanding advertising concepts and copy, as well as earned creativity that comes to life via PR/social channels. You will work across Ogilvy Health and Ogilvy PR, on both Health prescription and consumer brands. Your work solves the client’s business problem by communicating the key facts to the audience in a clear and concise manner, presented in unexpected and resounding ways. You love ideas and making them come to life through the English language.

As a Creative Copywriter, you are not only the communicator but also responsible for how the communication is conveyed. Your passion for ideas, language and storytelling shows through in your innovative and highly crafted work. The position of Creative Copywriter is a critical function within the Ogilvy Health and PR creative department - you give us the ability to put our name in lights!

As a member of the Ogilvy Health and PR creative team, it is your job to produce the best-in-class creative work that displays your writing skills across all mediums. You understand the core concepts of strategy and have experience solving client’s business problems. You confidently participate in client meetings, presenting work and contributing to creative discussions. You collaborate with other disciplines to ensure effective campaign development and execution. You assist with business development and new pitch activity when required.

You contribute to making our Ogilvy Health and PR creative department a great place to work, fostering a sense of community within the creative team.

What You’ll Do

  • Solve complex business problems and drive behaviour change through creativity and conceptual thinking.
  • Understand the importance of the “big idea” and how well the work reflects it within the framework of the clients’ brand.
  • Work effectively with art directors and/or medical writers and health PR specialists to create powerful, thought-provoking work that’s code compliant but not standard healthcare.
  • Generate effective and imaginative concepts, headlines and copy.
  • Write with consistency, accuracy and creative flair.
  • Express ideas clearly, concisely and persuasively.
  • Present with passion to wow your audience.
  • Where you can, always look to bring innovation into our work. Whether that’s AI, AR, VR, a new product idea or simply a new way of doing something, or doing something that’s never been done.
  • Craft is everything. Always ensure ours is the best. From the simplest job to a campaign, anything that leaves the Ogilvy Health + PR creative department is of the highest quality.
  • Be responsible and accountable for work. Listen and ask the right questions to thoroughly understand the business problem and brief.
  • Respond positively to internal and client feedback, re-work ideas, (whilst retaining creative integrity) to successfully address feedback and minimise rework.
  • Understand the market in which the client’s brand is competing.
  • Catch up with brand teams to make sure you are aligned with client’s strategy and business objectives.
  • Be the brand ambassador for your clients.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years marketing or advertising agency experience as conceptual copywriter.
  • A passion for healthcare communications and awareness.
  • Proactive and positive approach to work and an eagerness to learn and progress.
  • A portfolio of well written ideas, headlines, stories, social posts and/or anything that can demonstrate your handle of the English language.
  • The ability to speak to a range of audiences, using a variety of tone, style, attitude and format.
  • Proven ability to manage and organise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Habitually on top of inspiring, cutting-edge trends and developments.
  • Where you can, always look to bring innovation into our work. Whether that’s AI, AR, VR, a new product idea, or simply a new way of doing something, or doing something that’s never been done.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Hardworking, dedicated and passionate about healthcare communications.
  • A positive, calm and considered manner is essential.
