About the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor
The Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York is seeking an Intern - Web Application Developer to join its team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to public service by developing critical automation solutions for the office.
Role Overview
As an Intern - Web Application Developer, you will collaborate closely with a supervisor to deliver automation solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and upgrading web applications, re-engineering existing Microsoft Access applications for web conversion, writing SQL DML commands, and providing support for SharePoint development.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Utilize SDLC/Agile methodologies to develop web applications, adhering to agency standards and industry best practices.
- Develop, upgrade, and document web applications using technologies such as .NET, C#, and Visual Basic.
- Analyze existing Microsoft Access (VBA) applications to understand their business and technical functionalities for seamless recreation as .NET web applications.
- Write MS SQL DML commands and ensure data normalization.
- Assist in the production of ad-hoc SSRS reports.
- Support the creation of SharePoint sites, pages, and web parts.
- Attend business requirements meetings with the development team and assist in drafting system & user requirements specification documents for review and end-user acceptance.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Demonstrated development experience with Web Applications, C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, XML, CSS, HTML, JSON, JavaScript, AJAX, SSRS, and SharePoint.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and debugging processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Relational Databases and development on the Microsoft SQL Server platform.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.

- A degree in Computer Programming or a related field of study is required.
