The Opportunity: Analyst, Risk & Compliance

The Analyst, Risk & Compliance will be an integral part of the Risk & Compliance department, supporting all aspects of the program. This rewarding role requires high attention to detail and excellent critical thinking skills to solve problems while meeting tight deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • KYC/AML Support: Review documentation for KYC Onboarding to ensure all required information is collected and due diligence is performed in line with Odyssey’s AML Policy and Risk-Based Approach. Perform KYC Refresh on existing clients and disposition name screening hits. Assist in enhanced due diligence efforts and investigations and provide KYC oversight to Business Unit inquiries.
  • SEC Compliance: Maintain the Lost Holder Searches/Unclaimed Property program and policy documentation. Prepare and submit provincial Lost Holder Searches/Unclaimed Property reports. Review and complete reports for SEC regulatory filings, including TA-1 and TA-2. Assist in other SEC-related filings and inquiries.
  • Monitoring & Testing Activities: Perform assigned Monitoring & Testing Activities and input results into Odyssey’s regulatory register in a timely manner. Support the development and maintenance of metrics collection and reporting.
  • Team Activities: Help monitor and manage the compliance mailbox (e.g., Inquiries, Production Orders). Monitor the regulatory environment and communicate developments periodically. Support regulatory projects, audits, and initiatives, and work collaboratively to achieve team goals.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Knowledge of AML, Compliance, and Transfer Agent operations.
  • Familiarity with internal controls.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organization, project management, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proficient documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with transfer agent systems (e.g., Transtar).
  • Undergraduate degree in economics, business, finance, or a similar field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a financial institution, audit, or compliance role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
