Position Summary
The Information Security Specialist II at Oceaneering is responsible for assisting in overseeing cybersecurity for systems assigned by the Government Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM). The role leverages the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and continuous monitoring to ensure compliance with Federal, DoD, and organizational policies. The focus is on recommending, monitoring, and assessing security controls, rather than implementing them.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply cybersecurity principles and risk management processes.
- Collaborate with application leads, sysadmins, DBAs, developers, and testers for system compliance.
- Develop and review security authorization documents including System Security Plans and ST&E plans.
- Guide systems through assessment and authorization control gates using ServiceNow and eMASS.
- Implement STIG checklists, mitigate scan findings and maintain security configurations.
- Work with Incident Response Teams and analyze audit logs for potential threats.
- Lead tasks or entry level contributors on specific assignments as needed.
Qualifications
Required: 2-6 years of relevant experience with an Associate’s Degree in IT or Computer Science (or equivalent experience). Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, full RMF process and security authorization processes as defined in NIST guidelines. Proficiency in using security tools such as STIG, SCAP, Nessus, ServiceNow, and eMASS. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance with polygraph, and be a U.S. Citizen.
Desired: DOD 8570 certification (Info Assurance Management level III) and preferably a CISSP credential.
Pay, Benefits and Work Schedule
Annualized pay rate: $85,000 - $115,000. Benefits include Health and Wellness, Mental Health, Retirement Savings, Life and Disability, Paid Leave, Tuition Reimbursement, and more. Standard work hours are 40 hours per week (day shift with occasional after-hours and weekends).
