Overview
The Senior-Level Operational Analyst Technical SME IAMD (SWTD) at Obsidian Solutions Group LLC provides comprehensive analytical support for Integrated Air and Missile Defense operations within the Surface Warfare Tactics Development program. The role requires extensive military experience, technical analysis, and expertise in combat systems development for new and emerging Navy/Joint warfare concepts.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and recommend enhancements for Navy/Joint warfare concepts and publications.
- Conduct research and evaluation of C5I, weapons, and surveillance system capabilities.
- Make presentations and write technical reports on studies and experiments.
- Monitor performance of combat systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Validate emerging technologies to close lethality gaps across warfare domains.
- Document issues in command and control across fleet units and systems.
- Collect and analyze operational data from various fleet units and exercises.
- Support rapid capability development and Navy Test & Evaluation processes.
- Collaborate on Navy technical documentation and system integration assessments.
- Perform lethality gap analysis and recommend technical solutions.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have a current Security Clearance of SECRET with TS/SCI eligibility, a minimum of 12 years military or relevant industry experience, and at least 5 years aboard Navy vessels or within DoD warfare areas. Experience in technical roles such as Tactical Action Officer, familiarity with Navy Combat Systems development, Rapid Capability Development processes, and strong technical writing skills are essential.
Work Environment & Travel
This position is based in Fredericksburg, VA with no remote option due to security clearance requirements. It includes technical analysis in secure facilities and regular travel to fleet units, test facilities, sea trials, and weapons testing events.
