About the Role: Head of Department Digital Platforms

As a central IT service provider for three independent banks, 3 Banken IT develops and operates powerful digital platforms that make a difference for our customers and bank partners. For the leadership of our Digital Platforms department, we are looking for an experienced leader who combines strategic vision, deep understanding of digital products, and excellent stakeholder management. In this role, you will report directly to the Executive Board and work closely with the management of our banks. You will significantly shape the further development of our digital platform landscape – professionally, organizationally, and culturally. As the Head of Department Digital Platforms, you assume overall responsibility for the strategy, leadership, and development of the department. You act as a bridge between Business and IT, ensuring transparency, clarity, and shared goals. We are not looking for a purely technical role, but a mature leader with a strategic outlook and high social competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic and operational leadership of the Digital Platforms department.
• Responsibility for digital products and platforms throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Active stakeholder management at a senior level (internal and external).
• Further development of product, architecture, and delivery structures.
• Management of external partners and service providers.
• Contribution to the company-wide Digital and IT Strategy.
• Lead with trust rather than control.
• Provide orientation in complex situations.
• Be dialogue-oriented, committed, and assertive.
• Think entrepreneurially and act responsibly.

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in a leading management position in the field of digital products or platforms.
• Very strong stakeholder management, especially at management and board level.
• Deep understanding of digital product development, platform models, and modern IT organizations.
• Experience in collaborating with complex organizations (e.g., regulated environments, group structures).
• An open, transparent, and cooperative leadership style.
• High communication skills, clarity, and decisiveness.
• Strategic thinking paired with implementation orientation.
• Experience in leading other leaders is an advantage.
