Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse for our Medicine/Telemetry unit, working full-time nights. This role involves practicing according to the American Nurses Association's (ANA) scope and standards of nursing practice. The successful candidate will utilize their clinical expertise to deliver safe, therapeutic, and population-specific patient care through comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Patient and family-centered care is paramount, incorporating their unique needs into the care delivery process. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary healthcare team is essential to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. This position also involves leadership through orienting, mentoring, and managing team members to ensure compassionate, dignified, respectful, and efficient care delivery. Participation in unit, departmental, and institutional performance improvement initiatives is expected.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
- Identifies expected outcomes for individualized patient care plans.
- Develops plans prescribing strategies to attain expected outcomes.
- Implements the identified care plan.
- Coordinates care delivery effectively.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- Evaluates patient progress toward outcomes.
- Practices ethically using the Code of Ethics for Nurses.
- Maintains knowledge and competence reflecting current nursing practice.
- Integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
- Contributes to the advancement of quality nursing practice.
- Communicates effectively in various formats across all practice areas.
- Demonstrates leadership within the profession and practice setting.
- Collaborates with patients, families, and others in nursing practice.
- Evaluates personal nursing practice against professional standards and regulations.
- Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required for employees hired after 9/1/2020 (grandfathered for those hired prior).
- Registered Nurse License in New York State (NYS).
- Current and valid BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Current and valid ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP, as required by population, within one (1) year of hire.
- Knowledge of standards of practice for all areas of patient care.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Required Licenses
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Basic Life Support Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in Nursing.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range of $125,056.68 - $149,806.68 Annually. Actual salaries vary based on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other compensation/benefits.
