Overview

As a Part Time Patient Care Technician Mother-Baby Unit Day Shift, you will assist the professional nurse in delivering compassionate and safe care to patients and families, while also supporting the maintenance and safety of supplies, equipment, and the environment.
Position Summary
The role involves completing assigned patient care tasks, assisting with procedures like phlebotomy, fingersticks for glucose, and electrocardiograms, and participating in quality improvement and orientation processes. You will work with a diverse team in a high-performing, award-winning academic medical center.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist nurses with patient care tasks and procedures
- Maintain patient confidentiality and dignity
- Support unit quality and performance improvement efforts
- Participate in orientation and staff training
- Perform safety observations and assist in emergency situations
- Handle and deliver specimens, equipment, and supplies
Minimum Qualifications
A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must have completed a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience, or meet equivalent CNA/PCT certification requirements including BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification. Completion of the PCT online program within 3 months of hire is required.
