Position Overview

Join NYU Langone Health at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk as a Nurse Aide II Emergency Department on a full-time night shift. This role involves assisting the nursing and medical staff to provide care, comfort, and safety for patients in a busy emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe patients and relay changes to nurses
  • Assist with daily living activities like hygiene, nourishment, and ambulation
  • Perform tasks such as taking vital signs, baths, and specimen collection
  • Prepare equipment, maintain patient care areas, and ensure proper infection control
  • Support emergency procedures, including CPR and patient transfers
  • Participate in patient flow coordination and help new employees during orientation

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED; BLS certification (AHA only) and first aid training are required. De-escalation training is needed along with an EMT certificate, hospital/sub-acute experience, or enrollment as a nursing student. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and basic analytical skills are essential.
