Position Summary

The Staff Nurse Medicine Surgery role provides professional nursing care under supervision. The nurse will perform case-finding, health teaching, counseling, and care provision to meet patient needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Perform therapeutic measures and implement nursing regimens.
• Record and maintain care plans and progress notes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
• Provide guidance to allied nursing personnel.
• Participate in professional and departmental developments.
• Maintain professional competence through continuing education.

Minimum Qualifications

A valid New York State RN license and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association are required.

For Post-Acute Care assignments, eligible unlicensed individuals may be considered under strict supervision and temporary permit conditions.
