Overview

The NYC Department of Social Services is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner. This role functions within Human Resources Solutions (HRS), supporting the HRA and DHS. It is focused on directing HR activities including workforce management, recruitment, classification, timekeeping/payroll, employee discipline, and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct HR activities between the Chief organizational structure and HRS program areas.
  • Delegate authority over hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, and transfers.
  • Develop solutions to employee relations conflicts and improve departmental structure.
  • Secure budgetary and headcount authorization for HR actions.
  • Prepare and submit monthly Pre-and Post-Audit Planned Action Reports (PAR).
  • Advise senior staff on staffing challenges and policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders and program heads to optimize workforce planning.
  • Supervise Deputy HRBP for support activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have a master's or baccalaureate degree in a relevant field and appropriate professional experience, including managerial/supervisory responsibilities. This role also qualifies under the 55-a Program for persons with a disability.

Additional Information

This is an on-site position located at 4 World Trade Center, New York, NY. It follows a 9 to 5 schedule and offers eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness and other state/federal benefits. New York City residency requirements apply.
