About the Cyber Operations Analyst Role

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a Cyber Operations Analyst to join its award-winning, innovative technology team. In this role, you will perform engineering, design, implementation, maintenance, analysis, and administration of security technologies to protect public health information systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform security technology implementation and administration.
  • Monitor cybersecurity trends and support incident response.
  • Conduct vulnerability scans and analyze network endpoints.
  • Create and modify security rules, alerts, policies, and dashboards.
  • Manage SIEM architecture and deliver Tier 2/3 support.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, CEH, CISSP, CISM, CISA, SSCP, or CCSP.
  • Strong SIEM and incident response expertise.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation.
  • Ability to build security processes and document tasks.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Self-directed and highly motivated with minimal supervision.
