About the Role
Join NVIDIA and help build the software that will define the future of generative AI. As a Senior Research Engineer, you will work at the intersection of research and engineering, collaborating with the Post-Training and Frameworks teams to invent, implement, and scale the core technologies behind our Nemotron models.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, implement and test next generation RL and post-training algorithms with applied researchers.
- Develop and advance open source projects including NeMo-RL, Megatron Core, and NeMo Framework.
- Engage in large-scale, end-to-end AI challenges, from orchestration to deployment.
- Work across computer-architecture, libraries, frameworks, AI applications and full software stack.
- Optimize performance and tune models with mixed precision on next-gen NVIDIA GPUs.
- Publish and present research findings at academic and industry conferences.
What We Need To See
- BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Applied Math, or related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning, systems, distributed computing or large-scale model training.
- Experience with AI Frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX.
- Familiarity with inference environments like vLLM, SGLang or TRT-LLM.
- Proficient in Python, software design, debugging, performance analysis, test design and documentation.
- A strong grasp of AI/Deep-Learning fundamentals and practical applications.
Ways To Stand Out
- Open source contributions to deep learning libraries.
- Hands-on experience in large-scale AI training and performance tuning.
- Expertise in distributed computing, model parallelism, and mixed precision training.
- Prior experience in Generative AI for LLM and multi-modal learning.
- Knowledge of GPU/CPU architectures and related numerical software.
