Job Description
About NVIDIA
NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology and amazing people!
We're looking for a Content Engineer, Developer Documentation who owns documentation end-to-end as a product, not just as content. This is a unique role for someone who can ship excellent developer documentation and also build/maintain the documentation toolchain (docs-as-code, site build, CI checks, automation), so docs quality scales with product velocity. This role is hands-on and technical, with deep multi-functional partnership. You will influence tooling, workflows, and standards, not just author pages. You will see features early, validate them in practice, and translate that into clear, usable documentation that developers trust!
What You Will Be Doing
- Own documentation for assigned products from initial requirements through publication and long-term maintenance, including getting started guides, conceptual docs, SDK and API references, examples, and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with engineers, product managers, QA, and support to extract technical knowledge, validate accuracy, and ensure documentation is ready when features ship.
- Build and evolve our docs-as-code platform, improving repository structure, build and publish workflows, templates, and CI checks. This includes automating reference documentation where possible and adding guardrails that prevent defects from recurring.
- You will continuously identify documentation gaps, broken flows, and quality issues, and drive them to closure through both content fixes and tooling improvements.
- This is a unique role spanning Documentation, Developer Experience, and Platform Engineering. Expect a mix of forward-looking design and hands-on execution: writing content, contributing code, improving CI, and refining documentation workflows.
What We Need To See
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with a proven track record in technical writing, documentation engineering, or developer documentation roles.
- 5+ years of overall experience
- Comfortably working in docs-as-code environments using Git-based workflows, Markdown or reStructuredText, and modern documentation platforms such as Fern or similar systems.
- Ability to collaborate with deeply technical partners, work independently, balance priorities, and take full ownership of documentation outcomes across multiple repositories.
- Excellent editing, information architecture, and content design skills, paired with enough technical depth to validate examples and workflows.
Ways to Stand Out From The Crowd
- Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, developer workflows, or infrastructure-level products.
- Experience extending or maintaining large-scale documentation platforms, static site generators, or custom doc tooling. (Sphinx, Fern, etc)
- Basic scripting or automation experience, for example, Python or JavaScript, applied to documentation pipelines, validation, or reference generation.
