About My Pet’s Veterinary Center

Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Technician at My Pet’s Veterinary Center, you will:

  • Collect blood and urine samples and run diagnostic tests
  • Place catheters and monitor anesthetic procedures
  • Calculate drug dosages
  • Assist in exam rooms by taking patient history, vital signs and weight
  • Prepare vaccines, provide client education, and assist with animal restraint
  • Conduct appointments for procedures like suture removal, nail trims, vaccine administration, long-term medication monitoring, surgery admission and discharge
  • Support doctors by enhancing productivity, client service and patient care

Qualifications

Candidates must have at least 2 years experience in a veterinary practice or be recent Veterinary Technology graduates. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in proper animal handling and restraint
  • Knowledge of small animal vaccinations, medications, and preventatives
  • Basic veterinary medical knowledge
  • Experience in Veterinary Anesthesia and Dentistry (strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with policies, reports, and form completion
  • Excellent telephone, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, active listening, critical thinking, problem solving, time management, judgment and decision making skills
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and a valid Driver’s License

Anticipated Schedule

Flexible, part time hours with rotating Saturday shifts (5, 8, or 12 hours).
