About The Team

The Staff Consulting Architect role is part of Nutanix's Professional Services team in Bangalore. This team delivers exceptional customer experiences through innovative solutions focused on database lifecycle management and virtualization. The mission is to ensure successful deployments and optimizations for Nutanix's database service platforms, enhancing business outcomes for clients through automation and efficiency.

You will report to the Senior Manager of Professional Services, known for empowerment and mentorship, fostering continuous learning and growth. This is a hybrid role, requiring occasional in-office presence for collaboration and client engagements, balanced with remote work flexibility. Travel of approximately 15% to client locations is expected for project kick-offs, deployments, or workshops.

Your Role

• Design and implement database service platforms leveraging automation and virtualization technologies.
• Lead database migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and effective resource utilization.
• Manage the lifecycle of database services, including backup, restore, scaling, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate database solutions with infrastructure layers and automation frameworks.
• Develop scripts and workflows to automate database lifecycle operations for improved efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members in database modernization and automation best practices.
• Establish blueprints and templates for consistent database provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Monitor platform health and performance, driving continuous improvements based on analytics and feedback.

What You Will Bring

• 10+ years of experience in database administration and infrastructure engineering.
• Strong understanding of virtualization and cloud platforms (e.g., Nutanix AHV, VMware vSphere).
• Proven experience in database design, deployment, and migration for major RDBMSs (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Familiarity with automation frameworks—API integration, PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with snapshot, clone, and time-machine technologies for database environments.
• Excellent client-facing consulting and communication skills.
• Ability to lead workshops and mentor teams on database modernization and automation.
• Relevant certifications (preferred): Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified, VMware Certified Professional.
• Willing to work in the US time zone.

Work Arrangement

This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. Workplace type may vary based on location and team requirements.
