About the role
Nuclear Contract Manager Position Summary
The Nuclear Contract Manager provides procurement and contract expertise throughout the lifecycle of contracts for engineering, design, fabrication, testing, manufacturing, and/or construction. This role operates in accordance with established policies and procedures, performing tasks such as planning, bidder prequalification, development of bidder lists, creation of bid solicitation packages, bid analysis, negotiations, administration, change management, and contract closeout.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Drafts, evaluates, negotiates, and executes various contracts, including Non-Disclosure Agreements, Subcontracts, Consulting Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Master Services Agreements, Task Orders, and Purchase Orders.
- Reviews customer proposed terms and conditions.
- Serves as the single point of contact on contractual matters, acting as a liaison between company employees and suppliers.
- Ensures timely review and approval/reconciliation of deviations.
- Provides redlined recommendations and negotiates directly with suppliers' legal or purchasing staff.
- Maintains contractual records and documentation, including correspondence, supplier contact information, contract changes, status reports, and other essential documents.
- Provides guidance on contract matters to project managers and other operational staff.
- Monitors competitive terms and customer satisfaction with contract terms and conditions, recommending changes as needed.
- Produces and manages Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and Requests for Quote (RFQ).
- Interfaces with ordering departments to ensure clear specification of scope and technical requirements.
- Facilitates discussions between ordering departments and suppliers.
- Coordinates terms and conditions review with legal representation and Finance to minimize risks.
- Ensures contract closeout, extension, or renewal.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities
- Education: B.S. or B.A. in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance, Economics, or related field required. Master’s degree and/or Certified Purchasing Manager preferred. An additional 4 years (9 years total) of directly applicable experience may substitute for a degree.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of full-time working experience in nuclear contract management within the nuclear industry is required.
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
