About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our product-led organization at Nuix, working closely with our Product Management and Engineering teams. This role is critical in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring our product development follows agile best practices while delivering exceptional value to our customers in the eDiscovery, Investigations, and Data Governance domains.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis & Documentation
    • Collaborate with Product Managers, stakeholders, and customers to gather, analyze, and document detailed business requirements.
    • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable artifacts.
    • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirement gathering sessions.
    • Perform gap analysis between current state and desired future state.
  • Agile Product Development
    • Write comprehensive user stories with clear acceptance criteria following industry best practices.
    • Define robust Definition of Done (DoD) criteria for development, QE, and documentation teams.
    • Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and story estimation sessions.
    • Facilitate triad sessions with Product Manager, Developer, and Tester.
  • Technical Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility of requirements from a product lens, using customer personas and user experience thinking.
    • Participate in technical design discussions and provide business context.
    • Support engineers during development by clarifying requirements and resolving ambiguities.
    • Validate technical solutions against business requirements.
  • Process Improvement & Quality Assurance
    • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and coordinate with QA teams.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
    • Maintain traceability matrices linking requirements to test cases and deliverables.
    • Support go-to-market activities by providing detailed product knowledge.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams.
    • Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership.
    • Act as a subject matter expert for business processes and requirements.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
    • 5-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical product environment.
    • Proven experience working in agile/scrum development methodologies.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency with requirements management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Aha!).
    • Experience with process modeling tools and techniques (BPMN, flowcharts, wireframes).
    • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Familiarity with API documentation and technical specifications.
    • Experience with data analysis and SQL queries (preferred).
  • Agile & Product Skills
    • Expert-level ability to write user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
    • Deep understanding of Definition of Ready and Definition of Done concepts.
    • Experience with story mapping, backlog management, and sprint planning.
    • Knowledge of agile estimation techniques (story points, planning poker).
    • Understanding of product discovery and delivery frameworks.

    • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and security requirements.
    • Familiarity with customer journey mapping and user experience design.
    • Experience with A/B testing and product analytics tools.
