The Oracle Database Administration role at NTT DATA North America is a technical managerial position responsible for overseeing Oracle, MS-SQL, and Open-Source databases in both production and non-production environments. The candidate will act as the Lead DBA, managing customer SLA compliance, service stability, and satisfaction while driving database performance and security improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead DBA for Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Open-Source environments
- Manage 24x7 database support, including L3/L4 escalations
- Ensure customer SLA compliance and maintain service stability
- Oversee database backup, recovery, and security implementations
- Plan and execute database upgrades and cross-platform migrations
- Monitor and tune performance with SQL tuning, indexing, and capacity planning
- Provide thorough documentation, reporting, and presentation
Technical Skills
- Expertise in Oracle Database (11g/12c/18c/19c+)
- Experience with MS SQL Server (2012–2022) and open-source databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)
- Proficient in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, SQL Server Always On AG, Failover Clustering
- Strong backup, recovery, DR strategies and security implementations including TDE
- Skillful with monitoring tools and scripting (Shell, PowerShell, SQL)
