Job Description
Overview
The Oracle Database Administration role at NTT DATA North America requires 8+ years of overall database administration experience and 3+ years in a lead or senior DBA role handling enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Lead DBA for Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Open-Source databases in both production and non-production environments.
- Manage customer SLA compliance, service stability, satisfaction, and trust.
- Provide excellent communication with customers and stakeholders.
- Lead teams and manage shifts in a 24x7 environment.
- Produce excellent documentation, reporting, and presentations.
- Provide L3/L4 support for critical database issues and escalations.
Technical Skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle Database versions (11g to 19c+).
- Expertise in MS SQL Server (2012–2022) and Open-Source DBs (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB).
- Knowledge in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard and SQL Server Always On AG, Failover Clustering.
- Proficiency in backup, recovery, DR strategies, encryption, and security implementation.
- Experience with monitoring tools and scripting (Shell, PowerShell, SQL) for performance tuning, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Conduct pre-migration assessments, risk analysis, and post-migration validation for upgrades and migrations.
