Your Impact as a Networking Managed Services Engineer
As a Networking Managed Services Engineer at NTT DATA, you will play a leading role in providing exceptional managed services to our clients. Your daily activities will focus on proactively identifying and resolving technical incidents and problems, ensuring all client service level agreement (SLA) conditions are met. You will be responsible for identifying the root cause of critical incidents and implementing effective solutions for identified problems.
Advanced Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution
- Manage high-complexity tickets, conducting thorough analyses to provide comprehensive resolutions for a variety of complex issues.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, fostering their technical growth and development.
- Create knowledge articles for frequent tasks and issues, and train junior team members in executing these tasks efficiently.
- Provide valuable inputs to automation teams to significantly reduce manual efforts and enhance operational efficiency.
Client Infrastructure Management
- Ensure clients' infrastructure is properly configured, installed, tested, and fully operational.
- Perform necessary checks and utilize monitoring tools to respond to alerts in a timely and effective manner.
- Identify and log problems before they escalate, preventing potential service disruptions.
- Analyze and escalate support calls as needed, and thoroughly investigate third-line support calls to determine root causes and implement solutions.
- Provide onsite technical support and field engineering services to clients when required.
- Work closely with third-party vendors for issue escalation and resolution.
- Offer continuous feedback and updates to all involved parties, ensuring clear communication and transparency.
Project and Operational Excellence
- Drive operational improvements and optimize work processes, identifying opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency.
- Manage and implement projects within the technology domain, contributing to strategic initiatives.
- Deliver disaster recovery functions and tests, ensuring business continuity.
- Improve the quality of incidents and service requests through random monthly reviews, maintaining high service standards.
Your work will be pivotal in delivering high-quality services that ensure a positive client experience throughout their journey with NTT DATA.
What You'll Bring
To thrive in this role, you need to have:
- Proficiency in Pulse Secure SSL VPN, Virtual Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet Firewalls, Cisco Nexus switches, ASR and ISR routers, Cisco ACS, ISE, Meraki switches and access points.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network architecture and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
- Expertise in network address translation and troubleshooting uplinks to ISPs for DIA, MPLS, and P2P circuits.
- Advanced Certifications on at least one or two of the above-mentioned technologies.
- Excellent planning and project management abilities, with a capacity to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across diverse cultures and social groups.
- Effective active listening skills to understand client and team needs fully.
- A client-focused approach, consistently prioritizing their requirements and creating positive experiences.
- Adaptability to changing circumstances and the ability to work diligently under pressure.
- A positive outlook and resilience when facing challenges.
- A bachelor's degree in IT/Computing or equivalent work experience.
