About the Aboriginal Administration Officer Role
Join the Aboriginal Strategic Coordination Unit (ASCU) within Youth Justice NSW. This temporary full time role (until September 2026) supports administrative and operational functions to implement strategic initiatives including Closing the Gap, Target 11 and Priority Reforms.
Your Role
As an Aboriginal Administration Officer, you will:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and support services.
- Manage records, routine correspondence, meetings and events.
- Collect, compile and prepare documentation in line with quality standards.
- Complete routine financial and purchasing transactions.
- Respond to enquiries and escalate issues as necessary.
- Update and maintain records and databases securely.
- Develop and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal communities.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Experience managing records, correspondence and documentation.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Confirmation of Aboriginality is required.
Additional Information
This role is open exclusively to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It involves hybrid working arrangements in Parramatta.
