About the role
About Novig
Novig is building America's #1 sports prediction market. Founded by Jacob Fortinsky and Kelechi Ukah, we are the only platform to offer commission-free sports trading. We deliver better pricing, full transparency, and a more efficient market structure for users by eliminating the traditional sportsbook model.
Backed by the best - Novig has raised over $100M from some of Silicon Valley’s top investors including Pantera, Forerunner, Lux, NFX, Paul Graham, and Joe Montana.
Who We Are
We’re here to fix a rigged system where the house always wins and sports fans always lose. Novig is building the future of sports betting. Our mission is to financialize and democratize sports betting - transforming it from a closed, casino-controlled system into a two-sided, fair, efficient market where users have the power.
Who you are and why this role will excite you
- You’re naturally curious. When something looks off, your instinct is to dig into the data, connect the dots, and uncover what others might miss.
- You enjoy investigative work. Whether it’s spotting multi-accounting schemes, bonus abuse, or suspicious betting patterns, you like unraveling complex user behaviors.
- You’re detail-oriented and analytical. You’re comfortable working with data, internal tools, and admin systems to identify risk and build clear, evidence-backed cases.
- You’re decisive under pressure. You can make thoughtful judgment calls when the stakes are high and move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- You care about marketplace integrity. Protecting users and ensuring a fair, trustworthy exchange genuinely motivates you.
- You’re excited to help build something new. The opportunity to strengthen Novig’s fraud and risk systems—and stay one step ahead of bad actors as the exchange scales—is energizing.
- You have 1–3 years of experience in fraud operations, trust & safety, risk, or a similar investigative role.
- You have experience in fintech, gaming, marketplaces, or high-volume e-commerce (strongly preferred).
- You are comfortable working with data and internal tooling, and ideally familiarity with SQL or analytics tools like Looker or Tableau.
- You have a strong investigative mindset and the ability to identify subtle patterns or anomalies in user behavior.
- You possess clear communication skills, especially when explaining why an account or activity is suspicious to non-technical teammates.
Why work here, in the words of the people who do
- “I work with extremely stellar people, I own real systems, and decisions happen fast. No politics, no waiting for needless red tape. If something's broken, I fix it. If I build something good, it ships.”
- “The people! So smart, thoughtful, fun to work with, passionate about their craft, etc”
- “I'm having the most fun I've had in my entire career.”
If you want responsibility, trust, and the chance to help build the future of sports prediction markets - take your shot, we’d love to connect.
Not for everyone
