The Opportunity: CEO/Entrepreneur through Acquisition

NCA is seeking highly motivated, talented, and aspirational mid-career professionals who possess the ambition to partner with NCA. This unique opportunity involves searching for, acquiring, and ultimately leading a small or medium-sized enterprise as its Chief Executive Officer.

As an NCA Searcher, you will embark on a professional search, lasting up to 24 months, to identify and acquire a small- to mid-sized company. Our Operator-Led Search Fund program provides comprehensive financial and business support from NCA throughout the search phase. Additionally, you will benefit from an attractive incentive package, including a base compensation and vested shares in the acquired company, designed to secure and enhance your entrepreneurial journey.

Successful candidates will be responsible for searching, acquiring, and managing a company within the United States.

Searcher Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with NCA to establish a robust search process aimed at generating sufficient deal flow to identify and acquire a business in line with pre-defined criteria.
  • Manage the entire acquisition process, leveraging the support of our experienced Investment Management team.
  • Transition into the CEO role of the newly acquired business immediately post-acquisition.
  • Proactively generate and evaluate strategic growth options and business opportunities, developing long-term business strategies and detailed 100-day plans.
  • Drive top-line revenue growth through impactful marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Review product/service offerings, portfolio strategies, and existing brand positioning to identify gaps and implement significant improvements.
  • Oversee geographical expansions as required, preparing and successfully executing market entrance strategies.
  • Manage operational efficiency to ensure sustained profitable growth.

Must-Have Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong academic achievement (Executive MBA or MBA degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5+ years in leadership roles, managing multiple teams across various geographies and locations.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of proven track record in running and growing businesses or business units in the US.
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility.
  • Possession of a clear strategic vision for a specific sector or industry.
  • Strong motivation and drive towards entrepreneurship.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A).
  • Consulting experience from a top consulting firm.
  • Experience managing and operating an SME.
  • Previous role as an Owner, Founder, or Co-Founder of a start-up.
  • Experience in global business development and international expansion.
  • Recent successful business transformation experience.
  • An open mind towards continuous learning, engaging with people, and embracing iterative processes.

Selection Process

  • Selected candidates will undergo in-depth interviews, online assessments, and will complete and present a business case.
  • A jury review of their investment thesis will take place over several weeks.
  • The process also includes webinars for candidates to gather more information about the program and meet the NCA team.
  • The Final Assessment Center with the jury selection is scheduled for April 2026.
