Summary
Location: Montreal, from May 4 to August 28, 2026 - 17 weeks. Novartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role; please only apply if this location is accessible for you.
About The Role
As a Summer Student Data Automation at Novartis, you will conduct needs assessments with multiple teams, document current-state processes, identify pain points, and define automation opportunities. You will design and develop automation solutions using SQL, Python, and Power Platform to streamline data preparation, KPI generation, reporting, and produce Power BI dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct needs assessments and gather requirements.
- Design and develop SQL/Python based automation solutions.
- Create data transformations, validation checks, and scheduled refreshes.
- Produce technical documentation and communicate progress.
- Develop Power BI dashboards for automated reporting.
Essential Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Intelligence or related field.
- Hands-on coding ability in SQL and Python.
- Basic knowledge of data engineering best practices.
- Experience with Power BI and familiarity with Power Automate/Power Apps.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
