Summary

The Compliance Specialist partners with operational business functions for ESO Operations in Basel and regional ESO offices to ensure compliance with internal control standards (NFCM = Novartis Finance Control Manual). They maintain effective financial control policies, processes and reporting procedures, manage inventory and procurement processes, and promote best practices across the organization.

About The Role

This role executes Novartis’ ambition to turn process, data and digital into strategic assets for a leading medicines company. Key responsibilities include ensuring procurement activities adhere to internal SOPs, performing global NFCM controls, supporting audits, maintaining internal control frameworks, and managing risk escalations.

Main Accountabilities

  • Ensure procurement compliance with SOPs and risk management.
  • Perform global NFCM controls for procurement and toll inventory.
  • Support and remediate internal and external audit findings.
  • Maintain and improve internal control frameworks.
  • Manage inventory procedures and ensure accuracy in quantities and values.
  • Coach process owners and promote financial compliance awareness.
  • Manage personal and professional development of associates.

Minimum Requirements

Higher education degree in Economics or a similar field, with a minimum of 3 years experience in procurement or a related area within the pharmaceutical industry. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
