Role Overview - Senior Sourcing Specialist

The Senior Sourcing Specialist plays a critical role in optimizing the procurement of IT products and services. You will develop sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of technology solutions that align with business goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for applications, software, cloud services, and IT consulting; conduct market analysis; lead RFP/RFI processes; and manage vendor selection.
• Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with key IT vendors, monitor performance, and collaborate with legal and finance teams on contract management.
• Cost Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic negotiations and analyze spend data to inform sourcing decisions.
• Risk & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while mitigating risks related to vendor reliability, data security, and service continuity.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with IT, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and key customer teams in infrastructure, cybersecurity, R&D, manufacturing, and engineering to support project timeliness.

General Tasks & Compliance

Maintain compliance with quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety regulations.

Required Experience, Education & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in IT sourcing, procurement, or vendor management.
• Experience with IT systems in manufacturing, R&D, and quality environments.
• Strong knowledge of medical device regulations (FDA, ISO 13485, GDPR, HIPAA) and IT categories including SaaS, cloud infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity.
• Proficiency in sourcing tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa) with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

Experience with global sourcing, offshore vendor management, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO/IEC 27001), ITIL, ISO standards, and relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, SIG) is a plus.

Travel & Physical Requirements

Travel requirements are less than 10%. Ability to work in a standard office setting with routine computer use is required.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary ranges from $72,000 to $130,000 per year, plus potential annual bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package covering medical, financial, and other life needs.
