Field Service Technician

NOV is seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Technician to join our Service Team in Manchester. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, the role involves on-site customer support and workshop activities at our Middleton facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support for service maintenance and workshop tasks.
  • Prepare and approve work packs for service team activities.
  • Perform mechanical checks, factory acceptance tests, electrical loop checks, and leak/pressure testing.
  • Compile detailed technical reports on customer equipment.
  • Deliver after sales support including inspections and spare part identification.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Travel daily to customer sites, both domestically and overseas.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (C&G, NVQ LEVEL 3 OR ABOVE, ONC, HNC).
  • Desirable: Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Desirable: Experience with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Desirable: Understanding of industry standards and wastewater procedures.
  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
