About the Role
As a Principal Analyst - Children's Services at Nottingham City Council, you will play a key role in shaping high-quality intelligence that provides insight into the needs of our citizens. Your analysis supports service design, strategic planning, and evidence-based decision making. You will collect, analyse, and interpret complex data, working closely with practitioners, managers, and partner agencies to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Manipulate large datasets using Power BI, Python, SQL Server, and Excel
- Analyse complex data sets with various methodologies
- Produce timely and accurate data for performance monitoring
- Support advanced reporting, statutory returns and compliance with national requirements
- Communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences
About You
You should have advanced skills in data manipulation and analysis, a strong practical approach to driving performance improvement, and an understanding of the national Children’s Services agenda. Organizational abilities and excellent communication skills are key to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Additional Information
This role is offered on a hybrid basis at Loxley House, Station Street, Nottingham, NG2 3NG. Nottingham City Council offers competitive pay, great leave entitlement, a generous pension scheme and an inclusive, innovative work culture. The position is available as one permanent post and one fixed-term for 12 months (with possible extension subject to funding).
