In-Person Collaboration
Notion values in-person collaboration. All team members are required to work in-office on designated Anchor Days (Mondays and Thursdays). Certain teams or positions may require additional in-office days.
Role Overview
This 12-week internship (Jan 26 - Apr 17) pairs you with a mentor to guide you on impactful projects. You will work closely with teams across product engineering, mobile, infrastructure, and security to design, develop, and ship new features that drive valuable impact for customers.
What You'll Achieve
- Write clean, secure, and documented code.
- Design and enhance the Notion platform.
- Create new product functionality and infrastructure.
- Debug and improve software for web services and applications.
Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (graduating before December 2026). Must have prior internship experience and be proficient in one or more languages (Typescript, Node.js, Go, Python, Java, Swift, Rust, or Kotlin). Ability to solve problems, adapt to fast-paced changes, and collaborate effectively is essential.
Skills You'll Need To Bring
- Thoughtful problem-solving and the ability to decompose challenges.
- Technical proficiency (backend: data models, relational databases; frontend: CSS, Javascript, React).
- Focus on user impact and responsible design.
- Balanced views on technology tradeoffs and willingness to learn new tools.
- Effective, empathetic communication and teamwork.
Nice To Haves
Expertise in Notion's specific tech stack: Typescript, React, Electron, Node.js, AWS, and Postgres. Interests in art, history, or social sciences are a plus.

Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on factors such as location, scope, complexity, and candidate expertise. Estimated base hourly rates are $57/hr for Bachelor's candidates and $61/hr for Master's candidates.
