Job Description

The Support Specialist I reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine. This role adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Support Specialist I will work closely with managers and directors to develop work plans, metrics, and resources for achieving strategic goals in community and outreach activities. Responsibilities include coordinating internal and external resources, overseeing volunteer recruitment, identifying event spaces, ensuring programs are on time and on budget, and representing Northwestern Medicine at community events.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement community and outreach activities.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources.
  • Oversee volunteer recruitment and event space identification.
  • Represent Northwestern Medicine at community events and meetings.
  • Maintain internal reporting tools for community benefit tracking.
  • Assist in collection of community wellness program outcomes and evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years experience OR 6-7 years experience.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of the healthcare industry and community health/engagement.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the organization at community events and public speaking engagements.
  • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work.
