Overview
The Research Nurse Ambulatory Cancer at Northwell Health assists in research projects with direct patient care and ensures adherence to established protocols and regulatory guidance.
Responsibilities
- Participate in research project planning and feasibility assessments.
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to determine patient eligibility.
- Document consent processes complying with FDA, IRB, and institutional policies.
- Educate research subjects, families, and healthcare teams on study specifics.
- Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, phlebotomy, ECGs, IV placement, and specimen collection.
- Assist in audit preparation for FDA, IRB, and internal/external monitors.
- Evaluate disease response data in conjunction with the PI.
- Organize grant processes and ensure adherence to clinical trial budgets.
- Perform additional related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
- Oncology and research experience preferred.
- Enrollment in an accredited BSN program if not already completed.
