Overview

The Research Nurse Ambulatory Cancer at Northwell Health assists in research projects with direct patient care and ensures adherence to established protocols and regulatory guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in research project planning and feasibility assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to determine patient eligibility.
  • Document consent processes complying with FDA, IRB, and institutional policies.
  • Educate research subjects, families, and healthcare teams on study specifics.
  • Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, phlebotomy, ECGs, IV placement, and specimen collection.
  • Assist in audit preparation for FDA, IRB, and internal/external monitors.
  • Evaluate disease response data in conjunction with the PI.
  • Organize grant processes and ensure adherence to clinical trial budgets.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
  • Registered Professional Nurse license in New York State.
  • Oncology and research experience preferred.
  • Enrollment in an accredited BSN program if not already completed.
