Overview

As a 2026 AI Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML systems. You will collaborate with engineering and IT teams to contribute innovative solutions and support critical missions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support architecture, design, and deployment of scalable AI/ML systems.
- Design, test, and optimize prompts for LLMs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers and data scientists.
- Assist in developing end-to-end AI/ML solutions and data processing pipelines.
- Participate in system design reviews and technical documentation.
- Help develop AI/ML communications and training packages.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends in AI/ML.
Basic Qualifications
Applicants must be full-time students (undergraduate or graduate) pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields. Coursework or project experience in AI/ML, algorithms, or data science is required. Familiarity with Python, Java, or C++ is essential along with an interest in cloud computing and container technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AI/ML frameworks, responsible AI applications, big data technologies, or DevOps practices is a plus. Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn are also required.
Internship Details
This is a full-time summer internship (40 hours per week for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026). Note that no relocation assistance is available and there is no travel requirement.
