Role & Responsibilities

The Director of Medical Services is responsible for providing expert professional and clinical leadership in the strategic and operational management of Medical Services and the Medical Workforce unit. Key responsibilities include:

• Efficient deployment, recruitment, and wellbeing of the medical workforce
• Leadership in implementing National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
• Coordinating quality, safety, and effectiveness of clinical operations
• Overseeing medicolegal matters and supporting coronial processes
• Supporting divisional clinical leaders in governance and performance management

Selection Criteria

• MBBS or equivalent with registration eligibility
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA)
• Tertiary management qualification at a master's level (MHA/MBA or equivalent)
• Significant prior experience in senior medical management roles
• Strong analytical, clinical governance, and financial management skills
