Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Laboratory Assistant to join the Central Specimen Reception team.

About the Role

As a Laboratory Assistant - Central Specimen Reception at Northern Health, you will be responsible for the crucial tasks of receiving, sorting, preparing, and transporting specimens for analysis. This role also involves assisting with the accurate registration of pathology requests into the laboratory information system, performing various laboratory investigations, and conducting general laboratory duties as directed by senior staff. This is an ongoing full-time position, requiring commitment to 80 hours per fortnight with an attractive monthly Accrued Day Off, and participation in a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, and an on-call roster.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience and good working knowledge of data entry and general laboratory tasks.
  • Proven ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work a rotating roster that involves working weekends and public holidays.
  • Participate in the on-call roster.
