We are seeking experienced software professionals to support a high-priority data collection initiative designed to improve how AI systems understand complex software interfaces and real-world, multi-step workflows. This project focuses on capturing authentic, expert-level usage of professional software tools through high-quality screen recordings and detailed interface annotations. The collected data will help advance AI systems’ understanding of real digital work environments.

About the Role

This Software Engineer position is crucial for a high-priority data collection initiative aimed at enhancing AI systems' comprehension of complex software interfaces and multi-step workflows. The role involves capturing expert-level usage of professional software tools via screen recordings and precise interface annotations, contributing directly to advancing AI's understanding of digital work environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Record screen sessions demonstrating specific tasks with clear verbal narration.
• Annotate screenshots by drawing precise bounding boxes around relevant UI elements.
• Follow staging instructions to configure specific UI states prior to recording.
• Use a custom capture tool to document workflows accurately.
• Adhere strictly to task guidelines to ensure high-quality, usable data.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: Blender, Godot, GIMP, R, Wings 3D.
• Access to a physical Mac (ability to create a fresh macOS user profile if required).
• Fluent English communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to follow structured instructions precisely.
• Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines.

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience in data annotation, QA, or structured data collection.
• Experience recording workflows or creating tutorial-style documentation.
• Familiarity with staged or controlled software environments.

Contract & Payment Details

• Independent contractor engagement.
• Fully remote with flexible scheduling.
• Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.
• Project duration may vary based on performance and business needs.
• No access to confidential or proprietary employer information required.
