Research Expert (STEM) - Remote at North Star Staffing
We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for Research Experts in core STEM fields to contribute to a project focused on identifying high-impact open scientific questions and building structured knowledge bases to support long-term research progress.
This role involves applying deep domain expertise to define transformative research questions and curate comprehensive, structured learning pathways around those topics.
Scope of Work
The core responsibilities of a Research Expert (STEM) include applying advanced domain expertise to identify significant scientific questions and developing structured knowledge frameworks to advance research.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced academic or research experience in Chemistry, Applied Physics, Materials Science & Engineering, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate research significance and tractability
- Strong synthesis skills across large bodies of technical literature
- Clear written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or completed doctoral-level research experience
- Experience mentoring students or junior researchers
- Experience designing research roadmaps or structured learning frameworks
- Publications or demonstrated contributions in relevant technical domains
Engagement Details
- Independent contractor engagement
- Fully remote with flexible scheduling
- Project-based work with potential extension based on project needs
- Hourly compensation: $80–$90 depending on experience and scope
- Weekly payment via secure payment platforms
