About the Product Designer Role at North Star Staffing

We are building an AI-driven platform transforming how organizations identify and engage top talent. As a Product Designer, you will define and elevate the end-to-end user experience across our platform. This role sits at the intersection of product design, UX strategy, visual systems, and front-end collaboration. You will shape intuitive, scalable experiences used by both external users and internal operators. This is an opportunity to help establish and scale the design foundation within a rapidly growing technology company.

Role Overview

You will own critical user journeys from early concept through polished implementation. Working closely with product and engineering teams, you’ll translate complex workflows into elegant, user-centered solutions while contributing to a cohesive and modern design system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design for core product flows and high-impact features
  • Create high-fidelity UI designs and interactive prototypes
  • Simplify complex workflows into intuitive, scalable experiences
  • Partner closely with engineers to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Contribute to and evolve a consistent visual language and design system
  • Use user feedback, data, and product strategy to inform design decisions
  • Improve onboarding and in-product guidance to enhance usability
  • Participate in roadmap discussions and cross-functional planning

Required Qualifications

  • 4–8+ years of experience in product design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX depth and visual execution
  • Experience designing complex, multi-step workflows
  • Proven collaboration with engineering teams
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments
  • Strong systems thinking and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing marketplaces, internal tools, or AI-powered products
  • Familiarity with modern design systems and component libraries
  • Experience working in high-growth or startup environments
  • Understanding of front-end constraints and implementation considerations
