Network Engineer V at North Star Staffing
We are seeking a Senior Network Deployment and Operations Engineer with over 10 years of experience in IP or Optical networking. This critical role involves providing technical leadership and operational oversight for large-scale network infrastructure deployments, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal Network Engineer V candidate combines deep networking expertise with robust program management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
This is a 100% remote (Global) position, offering a compensation range of USD 110-135 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
Network Deployment & Operations
- Provide technical and operational oversight for IP or Optical network deployments.
- Ensure infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
- Develop and manage deployment schedules, scope, and resource allocation.
Technical Leadership
- Facilitate technical discussions across engineering, operations, and data center teams.
- Identify risks, propose solutions, and drive innovation in deployment processes.
- Ensure adherence to networking standards, best practices, and SLAs.
Performance & KPI Management
- Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including deployment speed, quality, efficiency, and SLA adherence.
- Analyze performance data to improve processes and decision-making.
- Provide data-driven insights to senior leadership.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with vendors and external partners.
- Ensure contractual obligations and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across network engineering, data center engineering, and operations.
Reporting & Communication
- Maintain structured reporting for senior leadership.
- Communicate program status, risks, mitigation strategies, and opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 110+ years of experience in IP or Optical network deployment.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale network infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical expertise in IP networking protocols, architectures, and technologies.
- Experience with program management, operations, and process improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Work Environment
